She was discovered by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and began her career in film in the 1940s. The actress portrayed Norma in a few popular movies over time, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in 1960, and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film released in 1954.
